The Fun Day 2009
Sunday 14th June from Noon til 19.00pm
The Memorial Park was buzzing with activity from a variety
of childrens’ activities including inflatables, electric go
karts, face painting, pottery throwing and high wall climbing,
to a collection of stalls selling various arts and crafts,
jewellery and childrens’ games, to experiencing holistic
therapies and meeting various community associations providing
opportunities to discuss interests and gain advice. Local
residents could
spend some time relaxing with a drink in the food section and
soak up the whole carnival atmosphere to the backdrop of various
performances and music from local groups and bands!

Sea Shanties, davidhilder@mayburylodge.co.uk.
In the days when human muscles were the only power source

the rhythm of the song served to synchronize the movements of
the sailors as they toiled at repetitive tasks. They also served
a social purpose: singing and listening to songs is pleasant.
Come aboard and let them entertain you!
